Bournemouth Over 55's week
Holiday dates: 4th to 10th August 2019
Holidaying are: Barry, Andrew, David, Terry, Pat, Pauline, Darren & Peter,
 along with Jane, Colleen & Megan.
Sunday 4th August

After a busy day travelling to the Laguna Hotel in Bournemouth we quickly unpacked our belongings before going for a lovely roast dinner in the hotel. Afterwards we joined the evening entertainment which was a singer in the style of Elvis singing some of the classics.

Boscombe Monday 5th August

Today we had a huge English breakfast. Afterwards we relaxed at the hotel, sunbathing. For lunch we enjoyed a picnic and drove to Boscombe beach. While at the beach there was a chance to get ice creams. In the evening after our meal we listened to a lady singing ABBA and Dolly Parton songs.
Tuesday 6th August

We set off early, after breakfast, for The Heavy Horse Centre. Once there we learned all about their history. We stopped for a bite to eat and then returned to the hotel. After a bit of a rest and our evening meal we were all singing and dancing along with the entertainer and Andrew won the bingo!

Boat trip Wednesday 7th August

It was an even earlier start today of 7am. We had breakfast and then headed for Poole Harbour where we joined the boat for our trip out. The boat took us around the largest of the Islands in Poole called Brownsea Island. The Island is owned by the National Trust with amazing wildlife and scenery. There was a care dog on board the boat called Poppy who we could hold if we wanted to.
Thursday 8th August

On Thursday we went to Norden Station where we caught a steam train to Swanage. Norden railway station is near to Corfe Castle, in Dorset and is a hertitage railway. Once at Swanage we went shopping for gifts and treats.Later, in the evening Darren won £30 while playing bingo! After the bingo we all listened to the entertainment and joined in the singing.

cafe Friday 9th August

Today we took a trip to the New Forest in search of wild ponies. We did manage to spot a few! Afterwards we had tea and cake in Lyndhurst and visited The Heritage Centre and Museum. They are dedicated to sharing the history and traditions of this diverse and beautiful area. Again in the evening after our meal we joined in the hotel entertainment which tonight was a singer called Joe Diamond.
Saturday 10th August

We had our last breakfast before we all made our way home.
