Llandudno
June 20th to 26th
A holiday for those who like to take it
gently.
We arrived at the Grand hotel and met all
the helpers. Heather, Wendy, Stephen, Geraint and Jane.. We met the rest
of the holiday makers, Maggie, Annie, Robin, Irene, Angela and David.
After we had unpacked it was time for dinner
so we took our places in the dining room and enjoyed a lovely buffet
dinner.
There was to be bingo , dancing and live entertainment every evening in
the ballroom and quieter music in the lounge so we could choose what we
liked best.
Sunday 21st.
After a leisurely breakfast we had a look at the leaflets about the
are to see where we wanted to go . After a coffee we set off down the
peir to see the shops and rides. We had lunch in a cafe at the end of
the peir and then walked into town to look round the shops before
enjoying a cup of tea and cake in one of the many cafes there. We
returned to the hotel with our shopping and some people tried on their
purchases and wore them for the evening.
Monday 22nd.
We packed up a picnic and set off for Bedd Gelert where we had a
nice lunch and a walk by the river to see the grave and hear the story
of Bedd Gelert. Tea and cakes were a welcome addition to the afternoon
before returning to the hotel to change for dinner and the evening
entertainment.
Tuesday 23rd.
The day broke with sunshine so we decided another picnic was a good idea
and off we went to the water gardens . there were two lovely lakes with
fish, snakes and reptiles. We had a good walk round before setting off
to a sea front spot for our picnic.. After a leisurely stroll along the
front we had yet another trip for tea and cake.
Wednesday 24th
Today we set off for Bettws y coed . It was a very hot day and we
managed to find a very sheltered spot for another picnic lunch. It was
so pleasant no one wanted to move but eventually everyone had set off
for a look around. Needless to say people gradually went into cafes for
tea , cakes or ice creams
Thursday 25thThe choice for today was a shopping trip in Llandudno so we
all split up and went off to the shops and had lunch out, of course
followed by more shopping and tea out. Then came our last chance for the
evening entertainment and what a good show it was. |
