North Portugal
North Portugal has a pleasant climate, not as excessively hot as the south and with mild winters. The region is less well-known and intriguing, with a visit to Porto, Portugal’s second city and the home of Port wine on the agenda, where we might tour one of the famous Port Houses to see its manufacture and maybe a tasting. We may also visit the beautiful walled city of Valenca on the Spanish border and the pilgrimage site, Bom Jesus, near Braga. Our Portuguese holidays are for those who like to be kept active day and night and not for the faint-hearted.

As
those of you that return year after year will testify, this is a
