Monday 17th May

After everyone arrived and unpacked, we had a welcome meeting. We introduced ourselves to each other and had a chat about our holiday. We had pizza for dinner and time for arts & crafts.

Tuesday 18th May

Today we visited Birdland in Bourton-on-the-Water. We saw parrots, budgies, owls, flamingos, kookaburras and lots of other birds. We enjoyed our picnic lunch. We had some time for shopping in the gift shops. We came back to the barn; some chose to relax and others did arts & crafts. In the evening we went Tenpin bowling and had dinner there. It was a great day!

Wednesday 19th May

Today we went to Crocodiles of the World. We saw lots of animals, crocodiles, alligators, caiman, giant tortoise, lizards and big snakes. We saw the crocodiles being fed; they jumped out of the water snapping their jaws! In the evening, we had a barbeque and played bingo.

Thursday 20th May

Today we visited Bristol Zoo, we saw lots of animals like monkeys, meerkats, lions, giant tortoise and penguins. We saw lots of different fish in the aquarium. Julie said, “It was a great day!”. We had fish and chips for tea and enjoyed a movie night with popcorn.

Friday 21st May

Today we visited West Midlands Safari Park. We drove the minibus around the park. We saw lions, tigers, deers, white lions, zebras and rhinos. We even fed the giraffes through the window! We enjoyed shopping in the gift shop. Back at the barn, after dinner we had a little disco. We sang and danced, with DJ H providing the music.

Saturday 22nd May

Today we visited Cotswolds Farm Park. We saw lots of farm animals, and we fed the goats and sheep. Howard said that “my favourite was the sheep”. We saw lots of wild breeds, highland cows, donkeys, pigs and funky chickens! We enjoyed a nice lunch there before driving to the beautiful Lechlade. We boarded swan and pink flamingo pedalos for a leisurely pedal up the Thames river. Afterwards we enjoyed pasta bolognese and garlic bread. Nazia and Alan chose to do some arts & crafts and decorated some ceramic boxes.

Sunday 23rd May

Today we visited the Cotswold Wildlife Park, and we enjoyed walking through the beautiful gardens. We managed to see lots of animals; like white rhinos, lions, camels, ostriches and lots of different birds. We had a great day! For dinner we had a roast turkey Sunday lunch. Everyone played some bingo later in the evening.

Monday 24th May

After breakfast we all said goodbye and made our way home. We all had a great week. Simon summed it up when he said how “everyone was friendly, happy, jokey and the mood was great!”.
